Description of the Product
Rogowski coils of the BCRN type are designed for current measurement in low voltage systems, and can also be used in medium voltage systems on cables and bushings with an appropriate level of insulation. Due to the lack of a saturated ferromagnetic core, the linearity of the coil is very high. Due to the different design and operating principle of the coil in relation to current transformers, there is no such parameter in the coil as the rated current. The same sensor can be used to measure the primary current equal to 10A and e.g. 3000A. When selecting a sensor for an object, one should take into account the measuring range and the resistance of the input circuit in the field controller or measuring device. The minimum current measured by the coil should generate a voltage above 1mV due to the influence of the interference on the measurement.
Rogowski coils are more and more commonly used in the protection circuits of medium voltage switchgears and in control and measurement systems.
