IPALCO Enterprises, Inc. is a holding company that operates through two subsidiaries: Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a regulated electric and steam service utility; and Mid-America Capital Resources, Inc. (Mid-America), a holding company for unregulated businesses. IPL is engaged primarily in generating, transmitting, distributing and selling electric energy in the city of Indianapolis and neighboring cities, towns, communities, and adjacent rural areas, all within the state of Indiana. Mid-America, the holding company for the unregulated activities of Enterprises has as subsidiaries, among others, Mid-America Energy Resources, Inc., and Cleveland District Cooling Corporation.

Indianapolis Power & Light Company, providing retail electric service to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Indianapolis, Indiana and other central Indiana communities. They also support not-for-profits, community organizations and civic initiatives.
